Max Kerner, a seasoned dealer of antique tomes, leads an outwardly serene existence with his spouse, Andrea, and their son, Lukas. Beneath his affable demeanor, however, dwells the enigmatic and infamous rogue known as “The Fox”. This suave and chivalrous thief, reminiscent of Robin Hood, dedicates himself to the cause of “redistributing” wealth from the excessively prosperous to those in dire straits.

Andrea, a shrewd journalist by trade, ultimately uncovers the truth about Max's clandestine endeavors, prompting him to renounce his life of calculated thievery. Yet, she harbors a more innovative proposal: she wishes to become an integral member of his crew. Despite Max's relentless efforts to deter her – emphasizing the necessity of talent, courage, intelligence, and years of rigorous training for a successful thief – Andrea remains resolute.

Stubbornly, she refuses to abandon her ambition and even manages to convince his fellow accomplices to welcome her into their next escapade. Their latest “project”, which Andrea learns about through her journalistic endeavors, is intended to aid the former World Chess Champion, Petrovski.

Having been utterly devastated by his previous adversary, Kirilov, who has since amassed great wealth, The Fox and his cunning team devise a shrewd plan to restore equilibrium to the fortunes of these two chess maestros, ultimately checkmating the greedy Kirilov…
