Professor Iris, an astute ibis adorned with excessively large bow ties, delivers fervent lessons to a class that encompasses a falsetto-sounding piano, a verdant plant, and a skeleton recently retrieved from an attic.

"Iris: The Joyful Professor," or, as it was affectionately known in the United States, "Professor Iris," was a Canadian puppet television series that graced screens from 1992 to 1994. It centered around the endearing Professor Iris, a vibrant purple ibis, who imparted knowledge to his motley crew of students: the melodious Piano, the stoic Skeleton, and the evergreen Plant. The Professor would impart a spectrum of subjects to his students, always complemented by a bow tie that mirrored the theme of the lesson, much like Ms. Frizzle's whimsical dresses in "The Magic School Bus." The show also featured Ms. Principal, the esteemed headmistress of the school, who frequently entered the scene, her complaints about the classroom cacophony echoing through the hallways.
