Constable Nick Rowan, a seasoned English lawman of the 1960s, elects to be transferred to the quaint village that served as his refuge during the tumultuous years of World War II. There, he assumes his role as a vigilant guardian of the rural expanse, a position within a compact police detachment that tackles a myriad of occurrences and challenges as they arise. Concurrently, his watchful gaze never strays from Claude Greengrass, the notorious rascal who plagues the local community.
