It served as a continuation of a science fiction saga revolving around an invasion of Earth by a predatory species of reptilian extraterrestrials, designated as "The Visitors." This franchise was originally devised by the esteemed American writer, producer, and director Kenneth Johnson. Nonetheless, Johnson was not engaged in the production of the weekly episodes.
