In a bid to rekindle the effervescent charm of the screwball comedies from the 1930s, Christopher Cazenove, fresh from his role as John Forsythe's sibling in Dynasty, and Margaret Whitten, who had gained critical praise though seen by few for her performance in the underwatched series Hometime, were brought together for a new venture. Portraying the characters Micheal and Louisa, they engaged in spirited bickering, playful flirtation, and a web of crime. The series featured parodies, high-spirited chases, and a sense of campiness reminiscent of the iconic duo Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd in Moonlighting. Yet, what set this apart was the distinct Californian, or even European, twist that Cazenove and Whitten brought to the table. Cazenove's timing was impeccable, while Whitten effortlessly supported and complemented him. Ernie Sabella, renowned for his voice work as the warthog in The Lion King, was a series regular, alongside Sarah Douglas and Tim Roth, who appeared in episodes as deadly adversaries; notably, Roth had virtually no dialogue in his cameo. Originally airing in 1989, the show, alas, comprised a mere six episodes at its best. Yet, they were undeniably entertaining. It would be delightful to revisit these episodes in the future.
