Additionally, there was once a son named William, who made his debut in the pilot episode but subsequently vanished from the narrative. His departure was rationalized with the claim that he had been summoned to lead a crusade. A significant element of Sir Thomas's life is his romantic entanglement with Lady Elizabeth. The show derives its title from the name of Sir Thomas's ancestral castle, Covington Cross. It straddles the genres of sitcom and drama, exuding a warm, light-hearted tone. It is by no means an exhaustively accurate depiction of life during the Middle Ages; rather, it was crafted to offer an engaging escape from historical realism. Each episode presents the Grey family with a fresh predicament, designed to challenge their integrity and intellect. Many of these challenges are conjured by Sir Thomas's malevolent neighbor, Baron John Mullens.
