简介：Had it not been for C.C. accidentally walking in on their moment, Maxwell and Fran might have consummated their intentions in the hospital bed situated beside Niles. Post incident, Fran is heartened to observe that at long last, something tangible is unfolding between them. Meanwhile, Maxwell remains on the fence, and Niles offers him a facile suggestion to keep Fran preoccupied with a trivial task, such as redecorating a room, to provide him with additional time to ponder his next move. Fran, however, swiftly perceives through Maxwell's ruse.

Sylvia interprets Maxwell's tactic as an invitation to Fran to integrate herself into his life and abode, particularly given that the room in question is the epitome of sanctuary: the kitchen. Initially, Fran harbors the desire to undertake the entire project herself, reminiscent of Maxwell's first wife, Sarah, who once did the same with their home.
