Bulman, a captivating TV series from Granada, spanned the years 1985 to 1987, and continued the saga of a central figure from the preceding XYY Man and Strangers series.

The series Bulman, which evolved in a progressively more liberal adaptation, was grounded in the character portrayed in Kenneth Royce's XYY Man novels.

In this latest iteration, the talented Don Henderson reprises his role as the retired Detective Chief Inspector George Bulman, who, while ostensibly stepping away from law enforcement and focusing on the restoration of antique clocks, remains an active private investigator. Assisting him is Lucy McGinty, portrayed by Siobhan Redmond, who serves as his indispensable aide.

The duo is often ensnared in the shadowy realm of espionage, largely due to the manipulations of the security chief, Dugdale, played by Thorley Walters, or Bulman's former police superior, Lambie, portrayed by Mark McManus.
