A youthful lad occasionally transforms into a canine creature. This is the premise of a long-standing Children's TV series that recounts the tales and escapades of a young schoolboy who possesses the extraordinary ability to metamorphose into a dog. This secret is known only to his closest confidant, who aids him in safeguarding it from the boy's parents, the school's headmaster, Mr. Blocker, as well as their friend and schoolteacher, Miss Jessop. As the years pass, the ensemble cast evolves (due to the actors maturing from their youthful roles.) Consequently, we witness three distinct sequences of adventures featuring three different schoolchildren (with the boy who becomes a dog remaining a constant.) Each of these children is paired with a unique breed of dog, all of which are connected by the enigmatic Miss Jessop...
