Directed by the celebrated István Imre, who crafted over a hundred animations throughout his illustrious career, as well as a plethora of other films, Mekk Elek stands out for its exceptional voice acting, featuring renowned Hungarian actors of the era. The film's unforgettable soundtrack was masterfully composed by György Ránki, while the captivating scripts were penned by József Romhányi, who cleverly inserted sardonic winks at the Hungarian reality of the time through the dialogues.

It's crucial to recognize that, akin to cows bellowing "Moo" and cats purring "Miaow," goats in Hungary emit the distinctive "Mekk" sound. This is a linguistic quirk that is uniquely Hungarian. Additionally, they have a penchant for employing the letter "E" and its characteristic, pointy tone extensively in their speech. In Hungarian, one can even construct entire sentences using this method. It's not quite as straightforward in English.

József Romhányi's original script is replete with wordplay, including double entendres, puns, and rhymes, a veritable treasure trove of verbal enchantments.
