Upon learning that his New York fiancée, Elaine, has severed their relationship in favor of another, Joel succumbs to despondency, worrying that his age may be a barrier to finding another love interest. In an attempt to uplift him, his friends engage in male camaraderie, and even Maggie steps in to provide a semblance of emotional resolution. Hollis is concerned due to the excessive time and financial resources his fiancée, Shelly, dedicates to the television's shopping channel. Chris endeavors to impart some rational thinking into her mindset.
