In the Edo Period of Japan, securing justice often proved to be an arduous endeavor through conventional channels. In such instances, the wronged parties would resort to employing shigakenin—merciless assassins whose deadly strikes were devoid of compassion, tasked with eliminating those who might otherwise evade their just deserts. Fujieda Baian, a dedicated acupuncturist, serves his community with unwavering commitment as a healer. Yet, there are moments when he transforms into an entirely different figure—a man whose healing prowess is repurposed to terminate those who believe themselves to be untouchable by law and justice.
