Sam was unable to prevent the wedding from proceeding, yet Frasier imparted a surprising revelation: Diane had abandoned him at the altar and had since taken up employment at a convent. Intrigued and determined to mend their friendship, Sam made the journey to visit Diane, extending an invitation for her to return to Cheers. Concurrently, Woody stepped into the shoes of Coach, taking over the role of Cheers' bartender, thereby ushering in a new era behind the bar.
